Recently had a recon escort rs turbo gearbox put in my mk2 orion. The box was rebuilt with a 2nd hand LSD - which works fine.

A couple of weeks after the box was fitted, the car has started knocking when i reverse whilst turning left, doesnt do it when i turn right. I was told driveshafts/CVs could be worn so i fitted a brand new pair of driveshafts which illiminated a slight clutch judder that i had but the knocking still remains.

Any ideas ppl?

 

you may have a tooth missing on the reverse gear then.

 

No, as its only when i turn left whilst reversing... Not all the time and i've noticed today that it only starts to knock in reverse once the car has been driven for about 10-15mins, so once its warm!
