Default need help with st170

got a knocking noise. fords say it is the flaps inside the intake manifold. they say it needs replacing the whole manifold. has anyone had this problem and can the it be fixed without replacing the manifold, thanks

I used to get a tapping sound from the manifold on my ST170 now and again when I owned a one.

I had one the management light came on it was a little valve controlled by a cable that when you reach 5500 revs it flicks open to give you a bit more power mine worked ok but wasnt closing as quickly as it should didnt bother repairing it as it was 350 job and didnt matter that much could b that

i dont know about the problem,but i have a used inlet i can sell you.50 quid delivered.
