i got a focus rs and my mate has got a bluefin chip that he took out of his focus rs would this go into my car ok ? or are they set up just for the one car they go into and thats it

 

Dunno what you mean by chip. WHen I had bluefin put in my car it was plugged in and downloaded. If you mean this then you can only use it on one car unless you send the unit back to bluefin to get reset

You will have to get your mate to sort it as with a second hand one you have to supply your Registration, Vin number, original receipt of purchase and you name and address.

They then check all these details against any records they have, plus they also have access to the car reg database, so can see whos owned/owns the said car and they can also check regs against the Vin number

 

oh well just hope he has all the info from his old car as my car is in the wife's name so thats not to bad he could say its his car in his birds name hope that works
