rite after my restore, and before i get the interior back in, i think its time to try n sort the bloody starting problem

here we go,

you turn the key to start it, it will turn over for about 1 sec then cut the ignition out for 2 secs then will start again for 1 sec and cut ignition for 2 secs, will keep on doing it unless u jump it off another car then it starts normally, or once n a while it will turn over, cut out and then start,

i have even tryed a new battery

I'd check the connections on the starter motor are clean and connected properly, then look at earth straps to the chassis from the engine/gearbox. Sounds like the starter isn't getting a good connection.

 

yer mate I'd say earth strap.
