Default Pf01 and Pf09 Throttle Position Sensors

Can anybody tell me whether you can tell the difference between a pf01 and a pf09 Throttle Position Sensor just by looking at them???

Am I right in saying that the pf01 came in red and the pf09 came in black?
I know internally that they are the same apart from the voltage readings work in reverse.

I cant remember which one I have bought but I did have to reverse the TPS wires to run the car on a L8 when trying to get it running- does that mean it must be a pf09

I think I bought a pfo9 to run a L6 ecu with the cossie management on the series 2. I've since found out that I will require a pf01 to run a L6 ECU.

Anybody help please?

Can you explain that a bit more???

Maybe I was unclear:

I bought a level 6 ECU to run the cossie management on my series 2, at around the same time I "think" i bought a Pf09 but cannot remember.

When we were trying to get the car running for the first time I lent my mates ECU which was a L8. The car didn’t run until I reversed the two wires on the TPS.

Now would you say that the TPS is a pf09 or a pf01???? Baring in mind that I belive both the pf01 and pf09 are identical internally and electrically apart from the pf09 is backwards i.e works in reverse.

So regardless of whether it is a pf01 or a pf09 you can run either on a L6 providing you have the wires the right way round???

you need a pf01 to run l6. It should have it written on it. Early pf09s were also red.

Thanks mate.

I have had to reverse the TPS wires to run my car with a L8 ECU. Will that mean that once I put the pf01 on then I will have to switch the wires abck to normal??

Or did I reverse the wires to run the L8 ECU becuase it is infact a pf01 and I needed to reverse them to get the thing running? If so I can just swap the wires back around then it will be good to run the L6.
