Default L1 and L6 cossie question

my saff has a L6 ecu on it but i'm having starting probs so i have borrrowed a L1 ecu off a friend but the L1 will not start my car at all no fuel pump etc???????
anyone no why????

Yes they are interchangable but depends if you are swapping chips between the two which are NOT interchangable.

i thought they were interchangable but the L1 will not start my car it's a L1 ecu with L1 chip
