I have a strange problem here whit a sieera cosworth 4x4. When you start the car it starts on 3 cylinders for afew seconds and then i runs very sweet and the car runs very good.
Now it is getting stranger! I have fitted an stage 3 kit but when you want to drive the car you can't get it above 3500rpm and it is like it's misfire but i is not misfire. When i put in the original injectors whit the stage 3 chip and 3 bar mapsensor the car is like a train!!!!!
So i've put a set of brand new 803 in it but the problem is still there. I've changed the fuelpump but i's the same. The car only runs whit the standard injectors. And it still starts on 3 cylinders for a few sec. Does anyone have an iday?

 

Bad chip. Loose it and buy something decent from a reputable tuner.

 

it's a brand new chip from motorsport developments and the 1ste one was from pts whit these chips the same problem.

 

would also like to know the answer to this as my old 3 dr used to do this ???

i tried allsorts inc map sensor ,injectors ,chip+ecu, gaskets, sensors,

basically allsorts and still did it
although mine always ran sound after a few second on three cylinders and also made good power 371bhp
just always use to piss me off when my mates laughed at my three cylinder cossy lol on startup

 

We've changed the IAT and ECT and now the car starts good but when the car is cold it still don't want to rev up. But now when the car is hot it runs like a train!!! So now the problem is only when the car is cold.

 

Check the CO reading to see if it matches the values of the chip it's written for.
