going to take engine out of my fiesta rs its got a zetec turbo engine in but only want the block out is it possible to get it out on its own or does the box and block need to be removed?

 

Pulled an Fiesta RS1800 engine out the other day leaving the box in place , only thing is you need to remove the crankshaft pulley to make it easier .

 

ive not done a zt, but ive done 2 cvh's and my current zvh, tried a few ways and I found the easiest was to drop the pair through the bottom, I made a right mess of the engine bay the first time, but I didnt remove the pullley.lol

I used axle stands and 4 lads to lift the car when we dropped the engine, would be really easy on a set of proper ramps

cheers chaps just took the box out anyway in the end only took extra 20mins

 

best way mate, I found it a total nightmare trying to line the gearbox splines up with the crank, last time i did it god knows how much colourful language was spoken,,, SHOUTED!!! lol
