Default URGENT HELP!! COSSIE HEAD GASKET???

Hope somebody can help!!!

My Escort Cos (T28) has just blown a coolant hose, the one from the thermostat back to the rad, I stopped the car straight away, (although I had been traving at quite a pace!!)and managed to get a spare hose off a mate.

Having fitted the new hose, and filled up with water, I started the car and let idle, all was well until a creamy muck appeared in the header tank, this was when the temp guage was at about half ( just before the fans would have cut in)

As I was just over a mile from I drove back slowly(ish) followed by my dad, the car drove fine and didn't show any smoke, the car has had no sympthoms before this other than the heater didn't seem as good as normal

Thanks in advance for any help

Regards

Simon
