after a closer inspection it is really just 2 of them with alot of movement i have just fitted it with standard bearings the crankshaft is mint. could the problem lie with the conrods or the bolts even though the bolts are new??

the crank is not worn at all it is in mint con out of a low mileage car, but the engine that the conrods came out of was worn and the crank was knackerd.
i have had the crank checked by the local engineering firm and the said it is perfect and in standard form, cheers

did you use the rod caps and main caps that match the correct rod's or block if you have mixed them then you've just found your problem

If you had torqued the rod bolts i'm sure you are aware you needed to use new ones
