hi, ust built my new bottom end of my sapp coss and i've noticed a slight move ment of the big end not only side to side but a tiny bit up and down is this normal?? cheers fo any elp
after a closer inspection it is really just 2 of them with alot of movement i have just fitted it with standard bearings the crankshaft is mint. could the problem lie with the conrods or the bolts even though the bolts are new??
the crank is not worn at all it is in mint con out of a low mileage car, but the engine that the conrods came out of was worn and the crank was knackerd.
i have had the crank checked by the local engineering firm and the said it is perfect and in standard form, cheers
yes the conrods caps and main caps are from the same block, the only new part is the crank.
i'm going to styrip it all down again and see what i can find, cheers
problem solved thank god, took it all to bits ,buuilt it back up over night and now it's sweet maybe there was some crap inbetween the rods and the caps who knows, cheers

If you had torqued the rod bolts i'm sure you are aware you needed to use new ones
