Right basically converted a mk4 mfi to efi, left the original tank in with the mfi external
pump as didnt see it being a problem and the car ran fine for ages then all of a sudden it started to hold back/jolt, miss fire and even had problems starting etc so thought it could be a blocked filter and changed it and it ran fine after that, but then a while after same problem again, so changed it again and was fine for about a week and now its starting to play up again. Any ideas as to why?! obvvious thing it looks like is filter is clogging restricting the flow but surely not that quick?! First thought is shit in the tank or pump\regulator problem?!
But one thing i need to eliminate too is, on the mfi setup theres a cylinder thing the fuel pipe from the tank goes into then goes to the filter, do the efi escorts have that too or should i remove that?! Got a pic of it so you can see, had a similar thing happen in a 2i of mine but that turned out to be the fuel pump damper which had split on the in tank pump which obviously this doesnt have, moy other thought is the mfi pump actually ok to use?! thought it would be due to it being a higher flow so shouldnt get fuel starvation unless obviously the pumps on its way out!

I did mate, took a while to get the fooker workin as someone had cut alot of wires including the main earth for the ecu that goes to the battery (took me ages to realise that
)
I managed 2 get hold of a whole loom out of an efi cabby that was at a scrappy and ripped out all the mfi loom and swapped them over!!
only bits i kept from the mfi setup as i said was the pump/tank etc, whats the prob with urs mate?!

ive got a EFI cabby that ive put and fiesta turbo engine to, ive also got a OFAB engine loom and OFAB ecu but cant work out how to fit the loom in,
be told to not use the loom and use the cars loom and just change pins but then again been told to fit the other loom

been lookin into that aswell and as far as i know if its got the efi loom in it then you dont need the fiesta loom. From memory you need to change the connector for the map sensor to work and have the right ecu and it should work, theres a load of stuff on this site on what u need if converting it like i did, and it says the OFAC ecu is easier to use but think it explains what u need to do to run OFAB.....

Cheers nick, im guessing it was only really needed for the mfi escorts then if the efi ones didnt come with it?!
