right another priblem, just changed the plugs not long ago on escort,other day was just giving a once over the engine and decided to clean the electrodes and check the gap now in the haynes manual its says its 1mm witch is 039 thou on feeler blades (20 and 19) am i right??? since changing that ive had like a blow and a rumble in the exhaust and i cannot find any holes or anything and it now seems a little underpower and drinking fuel i put 35quid in it yesterday and iam on red, it still runs ok and pulls but i just cnt think how checking the gaps could ov done this

i know it sounds a lil silly but you did make sure that you put the HT leads back on the same way they come off.
did you split one of the plugs?
i did that on my old escort with a new plug
