FRST Map Sensor Problem?
My car will start fine, run ok ish but requires a light bit of throttle to get it started and keep it going. If you take your foot off the accelerator it will sometimes just idle for a minute before cutting out but most times it will just cut out.
It will rev fine in negitive pressure but as soon as it hits 0 on the boost guage it just goes to die. Interestingly it does this with the boost hose disconnected too, ie running as n/a!
I think its running slightly rich.
Does this sound like a MAP sensor problem? Ive disconnected every other sensor which has had a detromental effect to the engine running HOWEVER when I disconnect the map sensor and block its vacume feed to the engine the engine still runs as above. Disconnecting the map sensor has no effect at all! Which seems a tad strange. Surely the map is faulty? (or wiring)
Any help muchly appreciated as always.

Deffo map sensor then mate.
there is one possibility though, and thats the signal smoothing unit in teh map sensor wiring if its an ofac ecu.

Cheers Stu! Will have to find a spare one now!
Its ofab!
Two quick questions:
If I put the ignition on and stick a voltage meter on the alternating voltage pin from the map sensor i might be able to see what its (not) doing yeh? Ie 2 volts as normal, rising if you blow into it?
If I connect a mates 3 bar map sensor should it run better but still not right cause the ecu wont understand it or will it pretty much do what its doing already?
Cheers.
