Default Battery Light....

hi need some help was in KFC drive in and then why i was waiting buy Battery light just came on so i went home and checked the belt and stuff all seems to be fine the car starts stilll wat could this be any ideas please neeed for work

hmm could be an alternator fault? getting tired perhaps, im not to hot on newer escorts lol

check the voltage when its running. Sounds like alternator has packed up.

BUMP BUMP Just bin to me car started the car battery came on for couple of seconds then went of but if i turn lights on or stero it lights up agin any ideas could it be altnater sending bad voltage thanx

More likely to be faulty regulator.

check the thin blue wire on the back of alternator hasn't broken off!

If that happened it would have no battery light at all.

Most likely a loose diode connection, I'd get a recon/rebuild as ap, it could be ok for years, could go next week, I always do things at the most convenient time, saves getting a ear bashing from other half if it goes when out shopping.
Whilst light is on though just check to see if still charging ok, as it is possible, if still charging ok up to you what to do.

tab is right alternator knackered change it before it lets u down yes i would know am a reconditioner
