Default Mondeo lights "pulsing"

So, one of many issues which I need to sort out. Any help would be greatly appreciated. The car is a 93 Mondeo 1.8TD as per this thread..

https://passionford.com/forum/restor...rally-car.html

Basically, the headlights, tail lights and dashboard lights pulse bright and dim when the engine is running. Also the battery light keeps pulsing at the same time. It doesn't happen constantly and seems to be mainly at speed whereas i'd expect it to be more at low revs or idle if it was the alternator that was at fault. It seems to be charging OK as we managed the 80 mile journey home fine and it turns over nice and quick still. I've not put a voltmetre on the battery yet to see what it's showing when running.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance

On a 93 mondy, I'm fairly sure the alt is internal reg/rectifier, don't think these were ecu controlled yet.
But anyway it's a alt problem, not earth, if it is a rythmic pulse, but certainly isn't going to hurt to clean all connections anyway, it's free.

They are normally extremely reliable, but this is just bad luck.
I had to do the auto starter on my dads mondy every few years, as it packed up, so now covered it in a plastic bag and sealed the edges of components with sealant, the short wire from solenoid to motor was soaking up moisture, but since this 3 years on and all is well!!
