MK4 Fiesta heater problem!!!
Hi, Hope someone can help, especially as the weather has turned a bit warmer.
The fan only blows hot air, i have changed the temp sender unit under the scuttle panel, which i was told is a common fault, but it still blows hot no matter where the heater dial is positioned. My next thought was to replace the printed circuit board at the back of the heater controls but i was hoping for a bit of advice first.
Thanks Mat

20K+ Super Poster.
If I remember right these are using a water valve, like some ka's, this might be worth a look, as this is going to change the temp,or is that what you mean by sender ?

PassionFord Post Whore!!
heater controll valve that is under the bonet ,right up by the window screen, 2 pipes in and 2 pipes out
/\ this was the best pic i could find so things might look a little different on your car, but im sure you get the idea.
Do your home work on which part number you need/should have as Ford made some a while back and there were a few dodgy batches circulating, some can make the car over heat because the outlet flow hole isnt big enough.
I got my wifes from off ebay and new from transitpartcenter and it was just fine.

Hi guys, I'm having the same problem, I replaced the thermostat valve with a new one from eBay only to find it's still blowing hot air even when its turned off, I tried disconnecting the pipe to see if it was an air lock but the warter still came threw, then I looked at the fuse and it was fined, the actual temp of the engine via the dash display also reads normal, really confused here, any ideas ?

PassionFord Post Whore!!
you've changed the thermostat or the heater valve?
Two different things matey.
You need to be changing the heater valve, has two pipes coming off it on the passenger side bulkhead.
If you have changed this,it could be a dodgy one,Ford once upon a time sold a load of bad valves which a few found themselves on eBay,although that was some time ago.

Hi Steve,
I changed the heater valve because it was blowing hot air randomly one day and has done since, I looked up the problem on the RAC website, someone gave the advice to a person with the same issue to buy and replace the heater valve, so I bought a brand new one from ebay, now after fitting it, it still blows hot air even when the fan is turned off, the gauge for the engine temp on the dash is reading normal, so Im a bit confused still..?
Not sure if this has anything to do with me putting some radweld in the water as my radiator was leaking slightly... I say this because I noticed at one end of one of the pipes to the heater valve had a bit of red gunk on it... the whole this is just a nightmare atm... I have to drive for most of the time with my window down because of the heat..?

Yep. Remove the panel where the 3 switches are and on the back there is a little circuit board on the back. You can get these for a few quid on the net.

Right, back again and still no better off, bought a new ''heater control valve'' fitted it... still blowing hot air even when turned off, bled the pipe too... (also the engine temperature read normal)
Then I bought a ''heater Blower Motor Fan Resistor'' fitted it yesterday, and guess what, still blowing hot air even when turned off and the engine temperature still reads normal....
Also I doubt the bottom ends gone because the engine its self is not giving me any signs...
Am really blagged atm...
Can anyone help ?
