ignition timing on S2

ignition timing on S2
Hi people
Just wondering if any one can help me out,i have a S2 turbo and between 3-4000 revs it starts to backfire and miss.
it has a piper 285t cam but running on standard timing could this be the problem? if so does anyone know the timing figures for this cam. cheers dave.
