help just bought a rs2k on a 96plate what oil is best to use ???

Ford recommend 5w30

but in the performance ford oil section they say 10w40 but yes accordign to ford technical data for this country it states 5w30. i use castrol 5w30 in my rs2k though and i havent had any problems with it.

do check the oil pressur though as the oil pump pressure relief valve has a tendancy to unwind itself untill it gets stuck against the block casing. you end up with under 20psi at idle when cold and 10psi when hot which is never good!
easy fix though just take the chain cover off, chain to oil pump off, oil pum out remove valve and refit with loctite
