atlas axle strip down HELP

Default atlas axle strip down HELP

hi guys

new guy hear who needs your help

just got me self a escort mk2 rs2000

the car has been fitted with
atlas axle with 5 likes and rear discs

im removing the leaf springs and replacing them with GAZ coilovers

anyway the guy who had the car before be had painted the axle in blue
and i want to remove the hard ware that is nolonger needed and have the axle powder coated

ive removed the diff casing
removed the 4 bolts from each end of the half shafts
undone the 4 bolts holding the diff in and the large nut on the prop end

but i can not remove the diff or the half shafts

shoul the half shafts just pull out then remove diff

or am i missing something?

been a long time but halfshafts should slide out mate ....
not sure if they have locator circlips on them holding them in or not
then same for diff should come out
may have to knock it off though with a hide covered mallet thing lol

thanks mate

i have removed the 4 bolts from each end
and the 4 bolts holding diff in aswell as the front large nuts holding the prop mount on

ive hit the disc mounting huds with hammer and nothing ?

Get some long m10 bolts and put throu the back of axle flange do them up evenly so that the ends are touching back of half shaft tighten up as to push the shaft outwards

As for diff use 2 suitable blocks of wood to lever the diff out

Hope that helps a bit if not borrow a large slide hammer
