ive got a 3i MFI cab, ive also got a t3, manifold, pipework and a massive intercooler, if i bolted them all on and made an oil return would it go bang even if i ran low boost?
could i use the cold start injector in some way perhaps? i read on motrosport developments website a while ago that they had a stand alone 5th injector driver that worked off boost
i'm just having a few ideas as ive got the parts lying around

im lookin to do the same thing to my 2i mate.i got the same engine as the frst and im thinkng of makein it a frst.first im gonna look on ebay and get some prices of all the things i need and way thau up with a frst engine.

it can be done no probs, there used to be a turbo technics kit that fitted, used the T25 turbo and low boost with std compression, long as u dont run more then 5-7 psi ur ok,only problem u have is advancing and retarding the ignistion on boost

ah, i have a plan for that, been looking on some classic ford forums and apparently you can use a diaphram unit off an old beemer because they work both ways, i'll cut my intercooler into my bumper tomorrow
worth a try i suppose, if it does go bang its an excuse to put a zetec in
didnt know about the TT kit for the 3i, but i suppose the xr2 was the same CR and they made one for that so it should be ok

TBH running low boost it will get lost in a big cooler!hence the TT kit had a small one and smaller turbo for quick response! good idea with the bimmer bits, i didnt know about that!!

think i'll give it a try, ive even read about someone using a pressure switch to piggyback another injector so when it hits boost is whacks more fuel in on a capri,when it hits boost the pressure switches another injector on, not very accurate but apparently works, could rig something like this up to the 5th injector on the 3i, using this with the boost retard on the dizzy and it could be ok, its not going to cost me anything so i might do a bit of experimenting

has anyone ever done this before? i did it to a efi 3i when i was 17 but i was a bit thick on the subject then and i never got it on the road, it was still quick though, dont think it'd have lasted long though
but now i'm a bit older and wiser i think i may be able to make it work

think i'll get it tested first, and painted lol, need to either sort that bonnet or get a new one, christ knows why people ruin RST bonnets like that
