Saph Cosworth 2wd Diff fluid & gearbox fluid ???

Default Saph Cosworth 2wd Diff fluid & gearbox fluid ???

HELP!!!

been told to buy 2.55 litres of "ATF" for the gearbox

&

1 litre of 90W for the diff

went to motor factors & they were unsure on what to give me for the gearbox

& gave me Comma Gear Oil, Limited Slip LS80W-90 GL5 for the diff...... not sure if this is right

confused now

the gearbox takes atf, automatic transmission fluid, if they dont know what that is then they are seriously retarded!

80w90 should be alright for the diff, i use 75w90 semi synthetic for my diff

atf = automatic transmission fluid

thought that rung a bell, lol

what should i be putting in the box???

Ford did originally put ATF in the boxes, but gear oil is better, but you will have a fight on your hands when it's cold though with gear oil!!
As said 75W90 LSD oil for the diff, on no account use NON LSD oil in the diff, make sure it is LSD oil.

Why do you need LSD special oil in the rear diff?

The LSD itself is a sealed unit, all the difff oil lubricates is the regular crown and pinion wheels?

ATF for the box (T-5)

and ... CTS recomends a 80W/140 fully synthetic for the diff... ?

ATF gives a smooth change, but is not good for the box as it is too slippery, the synchro's need friction to do thier job best, hence I use gear oil.
