Default Escort MK6 Convertible Relay? Fault Finding

Hi

Recently my hood on my escort mk6 cab stoped working.

Orignaly my standerd hood got slashed by scrotes so i fitted a new mohair roof and everything worked fine.

Then i tried to bring it back one day and it didnt fold and nothing happend apart from a clicking noise coming from my boot where the relay is, now its stoped clicking and still doesnt work.

I want to check my relay to see if it still works, how do i do that before i go checking other options?

Thanks matty

ive just looked in my haynes manual and it could be the pump fluid in the pump
other then that i dont know what it could be
i cant find the wiring diagram for the powered hood, but i think it will be with the electric windows and sunroof the post 1995 models is fuse f18 rating 30a
hope this helps you out fella

Could it be the cog inside the pump? These often crack or fall off the spindle, so the motor turns, but the cog just sits there doing nothing.

Ive not taken the seats out to check the pump etc but where the relay is in the boot its a bit damp for some reason and looks like the relay could have been wet at some point so maybe this could have blown it? It want to test my relay before i try anything else realy

Hi, you could take your relay to an auto electrician they should be able to test it for you..
