Default Zetec Fail -help needed please

First things first, this is my first post so hi and be gentle

Ill start at the beginning and try to be as detailed as possible..........

Ive got a 2000 plate ford focus 1.8 petrol, last week the gearbox imploded.
Got myself a 2 litre blacktop zetec and a 1.8 recon box from ford parts near newcastle.

The engines built up with the flywheel and clutch from the 1.8 engine and is back in the car. Everythings all plugged and plumbed in. New belts, 2 litre ecu and new coil pack, the correct oils and fluids, leads and plugs etc.

Tried to start it, nothing.

Traced this to a knackered starter motor, which is now replaced.

Tried to start it again, and still no joy. The engines turning over off the starter motor but theres no spark from any of the plugs and it seems that the injectors arent firing either. I know the injectors are good as are the plugs. The battery is fully charged.

Next thing done was to remove all the wiring connections and clean all the ports and heads before plugging everything back in. All the fuses in the engine bay box are fine, and the relays all seemed fine when checked with a meter.

What could be causing the lack of spark and injection? Could it be the flywheel from the 1.8 not being compatible???????

Any help would be greatly appreciated, i need the car running asap to get to work and uni. Its been off the road a week now and its starting to get desperate. Its been to a garage who came up completely blank.

cheers guys

Check the crank position sensor, particularly that it is close enough to the flywheel to get a reading as there are at two different length ones, if too far away and not getting reading this will cut sparks and fuel.

The housing that the crank position sensor sits into needs swapping over for the one off my old engine......gearbox out again then........
