Default Engine & Gearbox

Hi all,

Im looking for a little help, I have a small dutton pheaton S3 kit car running mk 1/2 escort gear. 1300cc crossflow engine and 4 speed box.

I would like to change the engine for something with a bit more power, something different, im thinking of a escort cvh 1600 cc Turbo from the RS turbo. Would the escort box fit this engine ? if now what gearbox would i need to use to make this work.?

Thanks all.

I would GUESS that the box would fit on, but why not a nice 1700cc X flow, or even a 2 litre X flow, awsome engine, can also use a different crank in it for more cc, think it's a nissan crank but not terribly sure on that.

The gearbox should fit , the only issue would be the spigot bearing , might need to have the crankshaft machined to allow the bearing to fit , and also it depends on which box you have in there if it is going to be strong enough , which depends on the state of tune that you are aiming for . I would go the EFI turbo route just cos it makes the instalation easier, with probably a T2 as your weight will be low .
