Default s2 gearbox rebuild kit question

im looking at doing a gearbox rebuild in my 88 (f) rs turbo s2.

ive seen two kits on ebay a normal one and an uprated late spec gearbox rebuild kit.

does anyone know which kit id need? cheers.

Normal for the 88 if it's on its original LSD gearbox.

The later kit is better/stronger but will require some machining to fit the larger bearings IIRC.

The big bearing conversion is ok , unless you have the mainshaft break would say if using upto say 180BHP stay std , after that you need a better dif and then the cost of the bearing conversion becomes small in comparison . I have built several of these boxes , they are easy to do , only special tools are the puller for 5th gear and whatever bearings you decide to replace .
