hi , i have a problem with my st escos that i suspect is worn engine or gearbox mounts but not 100% sure! here goes, when driving at low speed mostly in 1st and 2nd gear the car seems to rock (kangaroo) back and forth a fair bit if i touch the throttle then come off it again!!! it does not do it if the clutch is disengaged straight after i come off throttle!
any advice would be appreciated. thanks.

the engine mounts on these are prone to failing, carefully jack the car up under the sump don't let it take all the weight just enough to see if the engine lifts before the car, the drivers side is more prone due to it wanting to lift on acceleration,

cheers, that sounds a good way off checking, will try that once i get uprated fuel pump fitted. any advice on what mounts to buy and fit if they are worn? not sure if to get uprated mounts or standard ones if ya can still get em? anyone know the price of standard mounts and the difference in drive compared to uprated ones?
You can buy uprated mounts from various sources, in poly, they may transmit some vibes into the car but would not have thought anything to worry about.
I bought a std 2wd mount a while abck and it was about Ł50, so would imagine a ford
4wd mount would be similar.

I might be way off here but I remember an article in PF or FF many years ago, it was about a cos that shat out the gearbox. IIRC the coolant temp sensor had gone U/S causing it to kangaroo all the time. The end result was a knackered box due to the constant load on/off.
