3dr ST170 Passenger Window Not Working?
Hi all, as above, the passenger window in my Focus seems to just have stopped working. Have checked all the fuses and they're all fine. It's only done 28k miles, so not as if the windows will have been used loads.
Any ideas? Common fault?
Can't find a button anywhere that stops you opening the window for safety etc, so it can't be that.

20K+ Super Poster.
Have you tried it from the passenger door button itself ?, as this will narrow it down a bit, what to look for next, most likely a bad connection somewhere, motors don't normally give trouble, so looking at switch contacts or dirty connection, break in wire.
Try the passenger door switch first.

I have an st & my passenger motor went last summer, just last week my drivers one went.
The motor is easy enough to replace but buy it with the regulator attached as fitting an old regulator to the new motor is an utter arse (read wound cable springing all over the shop).
To test to see if power is getting to the motor then press window switch with ignition turned to accessories & interior light on. If the interior light dims when your holding the window switch ( v slightly) then power is getting to the motor but it's dead
Hope this helps

If the motor does need replacing......
I am in the process of buying a new motor & reg from turborob (see st parts for sale section) on here - Ł35. They are Ł120 from ford for just the motor. I'm having the drivers side so I guess he has a passenger side motor & reg going spare.
Providing yours is 3 door( which I guess from sig it is?) as reguator is a different (smaller) size for 5 door models

Thanks for both the replies. I tried the switch on the passenger side straight away, and that wasn't working either. Will go back out for a look in a minute...but I'm sure it was just totally dead...didn't see any sign of lights dimming etc. That's why I thought fuse straight away...but they're all fine.

Can hear a very faint clicking noise coming from the passenger door when I press the button on the drivers side. Presume it is the motor then...

I know. Bought this Focus for the low running costs compared to the Impreza I had...hope it lives up to my expectations. Had a 1.8 Zetec years ago which didn't cost me a penny...
