hi,i own a sierra sapphire with a broken engine,ive just brought a sierra 4x4 with a 2.8 v6 in.
ive started to strip both cars & convert some of the bits over.the only prob is to fit the 4x4 gearbox ive got to cut the tunnel & alter it & where the front drive shafts go,
im now thinking it would be easier to get a 2wd gearbox & a differnt sump but the prob is witch gearbox fits the v6 & is strong enough.
what car would have the gearbox i need.if heard that a 2.0 dohc sierra 1 would fit if i change the bell housing.
does anybody know or could point me in the right direction?

Would need to be a V6 gearbox, don't know if you change the bellhousing whether the 2L one will fit, thought but not sure the input shaft were different between the V6 and the rest.
A xr4i would be the natural choice for a box though.

I think the type 9 from an xr4i (2.8 rear drive xr4i) is the you'll need.
