fitting a window
no, just put the string in the lip in the rubber giving a little overlap at the bottom, then hold the lot up to the gap and slowly pull the string. You will find that the rubber pulls itself over the metal lip and basically just carefully pull the string till it's all in.
You can at times give the glass a little slap with the palm of your hand to help ease it in if need.
Piece of piss mate, should take about 1 min!
Edit: If it's a fairly big piece of glass then make a loop in the string on all 4 edges of the glass, enough for you to pull on, then pull on the straight edge of the glass before trying to pull the corners in

on the window first mate then string it in.
Like i said, make loops in the string to give you something to tug.
I'll see if i can find a yotube vid, dunno about posting links though if it's allowed.

couldn't find much mate, honestly it's really not hard (but then things never are if you know how to do things!) Don't forget to put the string inside the hole and not try to string it in by pulling the string from the outside lol!
I would put grease on the string first, as if you pull too hard it may snap, with grease it makes it so much easier, I have para cord(from a parachute) as this is slippy stuff and nice and strong.
