Default T34 or T3?

Hi,

You all probably get this kinda thread a zillion times but I did a search on here and didnt find anything that helped my question. Anyways I just wanted to know if this is a T34 or infact a T3? It was bought as a T34 turbo but I was told its a T3 rated 290bhp t3 from a series 2 rs turbo with a cossie exhaust housing. thats why it has a .42 compressor housing (thats the cold side)

I guess my query also is .... where it says .42 is that the a/r compressor housing if so Im sure a T34 is .60

Cheers

Something doesnt look right about the exhaust housing for a T3....... yours looks bigger, the water pipe fits in a different place, and the wastegate to elbow bolts are a different config!!
My guess would be (and it is only a guess having never seen a T34) is that it's a T34 exhaust housing with a cossie (T3)compressor wheel....... although why anybody would do that i dont know..... so probably not now that i think about it some more! lol

My old T3...

The core(bearing housing) is identical on T3 T34 T4, with this having a AR42, it is T3 compressor size, on 2wd(4wd were larger), can't really see enough detail to work out turbine size.
It MAY be a machined out T3 housing a T34 trim wheel, as this is entirely possible(I have it).
