it should point to 1:30 on a clock face and then the rotor arm should point to the cut in the distributor hope this helps you.

The dizzy pulley amrk is irrelavant os long as the cams are timed and the rotor arm is dead in alignment with the scribe mark on dizzy body.

What he said.

Look to the right hand side of this drawing where the arrow is, dizzy arm should be centred on this mark at TDC:

Sorry for dragging this up again but here goes...
I have just changed the belt and tensioner on my 3 door and right enough the dizzy drive pulley was out of line.
I marked the pulley position and changed the belt.
Then I checked the rotor position and it was nowhere near the scribe mark.
I have slackened the belt and moved the centre of the rotor in line with the scribe mark and she starts no problem.
Is it possible for it to run with the rotor away from the Mark? It must have been as I took care to mark the pulleys....
Thanks,
Dave
