Default Accelerator pedal

I have a 2WD Cosworth sapphire and I have a problem with the accelerator pedal.
It has a cable like this

http://www.burtonpower.com/media/cat...tle_cables.jpg

But my accelerator pedal is like this.

http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/MTYwMFgxMjAw/z/Jt0AAOSwbwlXBBI0/$_1.JPG

It looks like the pedal has been removed at some point as a bolt is missing
I cannot get full travel on the pedal

Can someone identify if this is the wrong pedal.

Cheers

Not sure if the link for a pic of the accelerator pedal works but it has a slot in the top which leads down to a small hole.
It has no nopple on at all
