Default Few zetec Q's

I will be putting in a 2L silver top zetec on a IB5 gearbox with rear mounted starter into my fiesta RS1800 over the winter.

Will be keeping the 130 spec management that originally came with the car, have fitted a 4-2-1 manifold and decat, ported throttle body and port matched manifolds

1st Question is will the 2L be OK running on the original 130 spec management with the 2L injectors instead of the 1800 one's ?

2nd Question is head porting for n/a should the inlet and exhaust be done or just the one ?

3rd Question is i have some verniers, is there any thing else to be had out of the STD 2L cams or the 1.8 130 spec ones ?? and which ones to use with the 2L

4th Question raising the compression ratio slightly good or bad ?, i would personally deck the block slightly but could skimming the head do the same ?

Thanks in advance for any help / ideas

Bri.

1. No.
2. You don't want to do any porting if using the standard intake.
3. Standard zetec pulleys are fully adjustable already.
4. Increasing the CR will give you more power.

1. You should use the ECU, injectors and MAF from the engine you intend to run. Using anything else will give less-than-perfect results.
2. Increasing port size without removing the restrictive component (eg the inlet manifold etc) will do nothing but make the engine 'soggy' and give you no more power.
3. Standard cams are best for a standard engine. Ford did a pretty good job at timing them in from the factory.
4. Machining the head is preferable. You should be able to get away with 1.5mm (on a fresh head) without piston-to-valve contact. You should measure what clearance you do have before making changes.

Focus RS (maybe same for all duratecs) have steel head gasket has been fine on my engine for a quick fix of upping the CR.

about 35 quid from Ford.

would the simple option not be to get the proper ecu for the £10 or whatever it costs so it fuels correctly?
