My mondeo 2 litre Si (1998) has developed a knock on the rear suspension . It sounds like the drivers side and is when i corner or go over a bump. Had the wheel off and had a look, all bushes look like new or sound condition. Any suggestion ta .

 

Im sure the mondeos have anti roll bar link rods on.If they do get under the car and give them a wiggle.You should be able to feel if there is any play in them.

 

I'm pretty certain it will be the rear anti roll bar drop links, anti rollbar buhes or even both.

Used to change loads when I worked at fords.

 

defo sounds like a drop link mate, had the same problem on my st200!

 

As above as a first check, then the shock itself after that.
Had a knocking last year on my dads mondy(2L ghia) was down to rear shocks, changed them and my god what a better ride for it, used pattern ones but really good and cheap too.

Thanks very much, you were all right and I've sorted it now. Drives a lot better and got rid of the knocking.
