Default Won't start

2.9 XR4x4.

Won't start. Battery's fine, got a good spark, so I'm assuming it's a fuel problem.

Did start twice, ran for around 5 seconds both times, then stopped. Wouldn't start again till next day, then ran again for only five seconds.

Don't know these cars well at all. Where do I start?

(Have tools, have Haines manual, working at roadside.....)

Thanks, Guys.

Fuel pump perhaps or blockage? Check under the bonnet make sure you are getting fuel to the injector rail.

Make sure the fuel cut off if fitted has not tripped, if the button has popped up just press it in again, if no joy I would next run a seperate live and earth to the pump from a booster pack etc, then try.
