Default Just wondering...

Right guys,
I was just wondering if you removed
the first set of injector plugs on a sierra rs500 equipped with working 8 inj.
setup and connect them onto the other set further away
would the car start?.
I tried doing the same on my 8 inj motor but it
did'nt start.
Just trying to iron out a problem i have.

Probably not, as fuelling requirements are going to be different for different position particularly at low cranking and idle speeds, where lots of fuel needs to go in, the ones that fire straight down the throats are for the higher rpm/load area on cars with all 8 working, as this tends to give better power, whereas closer ones give better mpg/emissions.

I would have thought you would get something, after all it is going to be injecting a combustable mixture. It probably wouldn't run right as Tabetha has said - but you would have thought it would fire, and possibly idle.

I certainly wouldn't take it for a thrash though.

The trouble is the mixture is hardly combustable, due to wrong ratio air/fuel, it would most likely give a few coughs and splutters here and there, but if out suffeciantly not enough to start.
