Ive got a cossie t3 turbo and was wondering if i can swap the exhaust housing too a rs turbo t3 unit housing so the wastegate flap is seprate too the turbo?

 

Yes T3/T34/T4 core all the same so should be ok, that is what I have as well!!

nice one make good too hear, someone said the exhaust wheel might be bigger thats why on the cossie one.

 

Mine is std T3 turbine wheel, but seperate 3 stud turbine housing, was told it was rst, but only going on what I was told, though not by the recon people.

I have pulled a cosworth T34 and XR4Ti T34 apart and checked them out, so far all have been the same sizes / wheels. The difference was in the housings only. I had checked on exchange / refurbish kits and found as Tabetha said that the T3X units all had the same inner section... I found that you can pull the housings off easily and peek around without fear of damaging anything and it demystifies a lot... Don't undo the nut on the turbine shaft at all as it would effect the balance As for the wheel size that would be the case from T3X to T4.

 

its ok, got this sorted now, basically i had a metro t3 turbo which had a mega small compressor compared too the cossie one but i wanted too use the exhaust housing off the metro one on the cossie t3, all fitted and works fine.
