Question Roll cage spec's

Hello everyone, I think this is my 1st post on here although I registered ages ago to look at some pic's of a girls norks as I recall ! lol
Right so now you all know I'm a perv' I would like to know what diameter & wall thickness steel tubes I should use for a roll cage in my next project mk3 Escort thingy. I have access to as much steel as I like so no prob's there but as this is going to be the only welding I do to the shell (hopefully) then I want to get it right 1st time.
Would I be right in thinking that the main "hoop" & maybe a couple of braces for it should be the sturdy items and then the rest can be a bit thinner ?
I will be designing & bending it myself so it's never going to be perfect but should give anyone who sees it a good laugh !

Cheers mate, no worries I'll probably just end up using what ever bends the neatest.

Cold Drawn Seamless Tube is what you need

Wall thickness and tube diameter are personal choice tbh and what you want from the cage (structural? just protection?). I have a main hoop piece in the garage I might be able to measure up soon if your really stuck.

Failing that ring up a custom cage builder, tell them your requirements and ask them what they recommend for your needs, sneak in the question about diamers and wall thicknesses.

Cheers
Dan
