HI ALL .

i no of a few cars that have had the cosworth lump put in for front wheel drive and am just wondering what gearbox is needed to take around 250 bhp .. also and also how much fabrication to make the engine sit nice ..

Mondeo V6 box gets my vote, and it bolts straight up, you just need the right clutch and flywheel combination as the cossie flywheel has the ringgear in the wrong place for the starter.

I have the clutch and flywheel you require for sale if you want it, 150 quid including delivery to UK mainland.
(came out a mondeo with a transverse YB but is unsused as they never finsihed getting it running)

 

i want to put it in a mondeo as the 4x4 option seems to be problematical ,,, just need to weigh up the options ,,

 

would it not pop transfer boxes?

 

you see zetec turbo lumps with up to 300 bhp so what sort of box is that ??

 

i guess your converting the RSi Mondy you bought off blokie?

told you it was a good one!!

i personally think you'll be better of going for 4x4 running gear and moding the tunnel on the RSi to accept the running gear

you should have bought the other yellow mondeo he has as well!

 

nearly bought both .. but i wanted the rsi ,, as when i have it done i can ditch the i on the graphics and add cosworth ... having new graphics made up by a matr of mine ,, will post pics as soon as i have them

 

Use the mondeo turbo diesel gearbox casing to put the starter motor in the right place, with the mondeo v6 inner gears to take the bhp. How does that sound to you?
