hey, i'm trying to sort out my dads mk6 escort ghiax heated front screen. i replaced the grey relay behind the battery (there were two but ford tells me the other one,green, is for the fan) and now if i press the switch on the dash it briefly flashes on and thats it, it won't stay on. i've tried another switch too and its the same. i read somewhere that some fords have a timer relay too, would this one and any ideas where i can find it on the car? the haynes doesn't tell you much at all on this!!!

its soo handy in the winter, i've got it on my focus, so would be good to get it working

try cleaning the connectors up for the screen..bottom corners of the screen under the bonnet...they are prone to corrosion..may not be the problem but its where i would start first
