hi all ended up getting my hands on a gooden but the boost gauge is at about minus 20 on tick over and on boost goes to 0,with engine off its at about 0,the turbo is coming in great,really happy with car,i have had a new shape 2lt turbo vectra but this puts the biggest smile on my face this is my first car with rs engine and it boost fine hope its just the gauge cheers

 

nothing wrong with the gauge, when the car is on tick over its not making positive boost as such the engine is only sucking in air creating a vacumn this is what your needle on your boost gauge is showing

good to have another turbo cab on the forum, get some pics up

 

i understand that but under boost its still only goes to 0 i understand vac as negative and boost as positive cheers

 

if its doing a bar of boost and only going to zero, you either do not have a turbo or its got a massive air leak, or the gauge is bust.

Might seem a stupid question but you certain the boost gauge is fitted correctly

 

The guage is knackered or it has been plumbed into either the servo pipe or breather pipe (with the 1 way valve in place)

 

the boost gauge was already fitted,its going to the same place as the turbo,how would you know of a leak,when that turbo kicks in you know about it,its wicked,how do i upload a picture cheers

 

If you had an airleak that bad it would drive like shit (if you managed to get it started that is!). The pipe from the boost guage normally goes to the top of the inlet behind the throttle body or the pipe which goes to you ecu. Aint sure bout the pics, but get one on here showing where this pipe is

 

hi mate on the top of the inlet manifold you have 2 nozzles its going to the right one where the dump valve vac goes,this car idles perfect and goes like a rocket but the owen i got it of said it hasnt been chipped but might of had actuator meesed with but it drives perfect and boost perfect and no tapping noise what so ever
