Default s1 rs turbo running problem..HELP!!

got a series1 that i bought in october and its driving me up the wall.
first of all it would start for a couple of seconds then cut out, fuel was coming to the metering unit but not getin to the injectors so i took the metering unit out sprayed loads of wd40 on arm and freed it off a bit but still nothing, i got another metering unit put it on today and it run and idled on cold but very rough then when gettin warm cuts out but alot better then it was.
its also chuckin out of white smoke when revving it with a strong fuel smell so it could be overfuelling.....

If it was overfueling that bad you would have plumes of black smoke.....

Them metering units can be a nightmare mate, it may just want setting up. I had a cold starting problem with mine and tried 2 different metering units and it was the same, I had it setup on rolling road and it was much better afterwards.

You can also try disconnecting the cold start valve and see if its any better as it may be dumping too much fuel in.
