Unhappy Escort alloys on Escort Van?

Hiya

I bought these escort alloys (at least the bloke i bought them off said they were, i have seen fiestas with similar wheels) thinking they'd bolt right on to my van.

However, when i tried to attach the wheels, the tool i have for removing wheel nuts wouldn't fit into the recess, meaning i couldn't tighten the nut enough (3 or 4 mm of play)

My van has the stud + nut type fixings for the wheels (is that the right terminology?), i was wondering if it needed to be the other type (whatever thats called).

Any help greatly appreciated

the wheels you have are escort cosworth lookalikes and are either mondeo zetec s wheels (16") or escort GTI wheels (15") , they were also available in 14" as an accessory

they will be a direct fit for your van as all 4 stud fords have the same bolt pattern

by the sounds of it you are trying to use wheels nuts designed for steel wheels , if this is the case you need to get hold of some alloy nuts as using steel nuts with alloys is very dangerous !

you need the alloy wheel nuts from an escort as they are different to the steel ones

Cool

I have got the same wheels on my mk 6 van, if they are the 16" mondeo wheels.
i had to put longer wheel studs in the hub first, and use alloy wheel nuts.
if you have 205 tyres you will also need a 10mm spacer on the back.
hope that helps

Got them on now
Not sure how long theyre gonna stay there though, theyre only the 14's so they look a bit silly on the back now
I'll keep an eye out for a set of the mondeo ones, you got a picture of yours Dean?
