I've seen a few ST170s and 2 litre Zetecs mounted in Mk1/2 bays now, and it's been proven that a Cossie turbo lump will go in, so as far as will it work is concerned the answer has to be yes - if you have the appropriate fabrication ability it should be ok with perhaps some trial and error.

you would be better to use the focus box as its stronger, but you will most certainly be required to modify the shell, specifically engine bay and have drive shafts, engine mounts, gearbox mounts etc made.

Its gonna torque steer like a tw*t!
The standard 1600 makes the car steer wherever it likes already.
Hope you've got some extensive suspension & ARB mods to go with it.
Will be an animal though.

thats the plan i think mate,plus its sumat out of the norm.its already on coilovers and uprated bushes and i think he is goin fully adjustable underneath aswell.cheers 4 the advice
