crossflow gearbox info.. fwd
hi im after some info on what gearbox options i have to put a crossflow onto a fwd gearbox, iv heard u can use an 1800cc derv fiesta box but not sure of year or mk and u can run a rst box but need an adapter plate, the fiesta 1300cc petrol box is no good as the ratios aint good for me.

Any box should fit iirc.
Certainly the CVH ones will go straight on.
Ford kept the same bellhousing bolt pattern for everything. You can probably stick a new mtx job on there if you can fit it in the bay and make your own drive shafts.
No need for adapters.

hey cheers for the reply.. space aint an issue as its a rear engined project and will need custom drive shafts anyway most likely.. im not up on fords so i dont no what box is what lol, what is this mtx you speak of ??

Look at 'general transmission guides' on the left hand list.
MTX75 is/was (afaik) the strongest FWD box.
Dunno if thats changed now with the advent of the FRS and the like. Though I'm not sure those 'even newer' boxes, like the focus, will fit anyway.
