Default Opinions on intake design.....

Me and a mate have bought a 90% complete kit car project that the previous owner gave up on. It has Ford running gear incuding a type 9 sierra gearbox but it was minus an engine, I had a 2.0 zetec just lying about so it was a done deal. Now that we've put the engine in the car we realised there is very little clearance for an intake manifold, throttle bodies would eat up the entire budget we have so they are out of the question. We have decided to build our own intake so we can angle it down slightly to give us the clearance we need. Just looking for opinions on our basic design (sorry for the crude drawing) The bottom picture is a sectional view of our proposed design so that all full throttle all cylinders will recieve a more equal air flow.

Any suggestions, comments or possible improvements..?
