My mrs has a 1.25 16v mk5 fiesta ghia and the remote key has stopped working. Ive bent the battery connections so they are touching the inside of the key. Iknow the battery is spot on too.Ive checked the fuse and still no good. please help

 

i have the same problem on my mk4 fiesta

 

A good mate of mine said the keys always go wrong on them. I think the key is gonna need coding in or its gonna need a new key.

 

will need a new remote and re coding they lose there connectivity over the years.cheers

 

When you say it's not working,do you mean it won't start the car or the remote won't unlock the doors?

If its like the focus i had you can recode it yourself.
My remote wouldnt unlock or lock the doors/boot so i bought a new one off ebay and coded it to the car.
A quick google search should tell you how to do it.

 

The key starts the car its just the remote key that wont open the door with the remote cenral locking.

 

i got the remote key to work today. I was talking to a bloke who does car keys and he told me what to do. Open the car and turn the ignition on and off 4 times. Then the hazard lights should flash and you hear a buzzing noise. I opened the drivers door then pressed the buttons on the remote key fob. So if yours isnt working try this.
