Default Esy Reversing light switch - more problems?

Someone please remind me where these are on a mk4 escrot.


Cant be arsed to go hunting about the box and my reverse lights have packed in.

Front of the gearbox just outside the mounting plate. Big black plug with 2 pins in it

No idea, my last car didnt have them fitted.

I thought they were one of them things that had to work if they were there?

mate a new switch is aboutŁ15.00 from ford as for test your ok not a mot item

Err.. I'm a little stuck now.

I just went out and bridged the two contacts on the switch wiring and still nothing.
Bulbs are fine, all fuses are fine... err.. what next?

I thought bridging the pins would turn them on.

Yup.

I can see me running a new length of cable from the switch/live to the boot if all else fails.
I dont fancy picking apart a 20 year old loom.

Bloody horns broke now too. Relay clicks but theres no 'HONK'.

The reverse light plug runs to a multi pin conector after about a foot or so check thats plugged in and or not coroded, but it doesn't matter for the MOT they aint part of the test
