The gearlever on my Cousins car has stopped self centering. Is there anything on the linkage that can cause this?

I have a feeling its something in the box that has broke. Does anyone have a pic/diagram of the linkage inside the box?

is there a spring under the gaitor that has come off/broke?

 

Nope, there is no springs in the visible linkage.

 

have a look underneath the car above the exhaust, there will be one there somewhere.

 

there is a gate inside inside the box that over the years builds up swarf and blocks out. It is pretty common.

 

Nope just a UJ.


Is there an easy fix without pulling the box off?
