Exclamation 2.5 V6 secondary cam problem...

Hi, me again!
I have a little problem with my secondary cams not opening ( I think)
The car (ST200) hesitates quite badly at 4000rpm and my previous experience led me to believe that the IMRC unit was at fault. However, I have taken this apart and seen it working as it should with the car running.

Now though, I'm stuck as to what to try next, the local garages tell me conflicting ideas (one says the plugs are at fault, the other says the inlet manifold needs cleaning [?])

Has anyone had a similar problem that they have come across and was it solved at all?

Many thanks...

Lee.

Ps, are there any ST meets in the Berkshire area? The ST owners club website wont let me register for some reason? (I don't want much, do I!!!! lol)

i have no idea what the problem is, as i don't have much experience with these engines. i do however know that without all of the cams working, the engine won't run

perhaps you should watch this to gain understanding of how twin cam setups work:

I've now found that all cams are running and the problem seems to be coming from the MAF sensor and possibly a faulty CAT sensor combined...

Ho hum, the joys of enthusiastic motoring! Thanks for the info though, very interesting...
